A brilliant opportunity for Team India to win its first-ever Test series in South Africa went begging as the Proteas beat Virat Kohli's men by 7 wickets in the Cape Town Test to clinch the Test series 2-1.
The hosts needed 111 more runs on Day 4 and India needed quick wickets but it was South Africa that managed to keep things in its favour. India did manage to get the wicket of a well-set Keegan Petersen for 82 but it was too late by then. The Proteas didn't have any more hiccups as they crossed the finish line with ease.
India had won the 1st Test but South Africa bounced back with 2 consecutive wins and denied the visitors a chance to make history.
