The series-deciding 3rd Test in Cape Town promises to be a cracker contest as South Africa ended Day 1 at 17/1, trailing India by 206 runs.
Virat Kohli returned to lead India and opted to bat first but Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul once again failed to impress. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli steadied the innings before Pujara was out for 43. Rahane and Pant too were dismissed cheaply but Virat held one end and scored a solid 79. India was eventually bowled out for 223.
South Africa dealt a huge blow as they lost an in-form Dean Elgar for just 3. Markram and Maharaj made sure the hosts ended the day without any more hiccups.
