After a long flight from Thiruvananthapuram, Rohit Sharma-led Team India and South Africa arrived in Guwahati on Thursday.
Men In Blue took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after thrashing the Proteas by 8 wickets on Wednesday.
This will only be the second match at Guwahati's Barsapara Stadium in two years. In 2020, a T20 International between India and Sri Lanka was abandoned due to rain without a ball being bowled.
