After scoring 51 during the 297 run chase, Virat became India's highest run-getter in away ODIs. Just 9 runs into the innings, the 33-year-old surpassed Sachin Tendulkar who had 5,065 runs. He is now third in the overall list in the 50-over format. While he may surpass Ricky Ponting who is second in the list at 5,090 runs. Kumar Sangakkara with 5518 runs stands 1st.
The former skipper also went past Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid after amassing 1338 runs against South Africa. While Dravid had 1309 runs, Ganguly collected 1313 runs against SA. He is now behind Sachhin Tendulkar who scored 2001 runs against the Rainbow nation.
