IND vs SA: Rohit Sharma clears preliminary fitness Test, likely to be available for ODIs

Ahead of the ODI team announcement, India's new ODI skipper Rohit Sharma who suffered a hamstring injury earlier has cleared his preliminary fitness test and will probably be available in South Africa.

Sharma who is not a part of the Test squad will take one more fitness test before the NCA declares him fit for the upcoming 3 match ODI series that begins on Jan 19th.

Rohit seems fit, he was recovering well and cleared the preliminary fitness Test, he is still at the NCA and will undergo a final Test likely tomorrow, a source in the know told Inside Sport. 

Apart from the 34-year-old batter, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are also recovering. The selectors who do not want to rush into the process said that they will make a late call on their fitness. Call on their inclusion will be a last-minute call subject to a fitness Test, reported Inside Sport quoting the source.  

While India has plenty of strong options to choose from, the announcement of the final ODI squad.
