It were the boisterous fans of Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson who gave a rousing welcome to Team India as they arrived in Thiruvananthpuram for their upcoming 3-match T20I series against South Africa which begins on September 28.
Although he is not a part of the Indian squad for the SA series, the huge crowd chanted local boy Sanju Samson's name as the Indian Team bus made its way through the streets. Indian spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin tagged Samson as they shared images and videos of the fans on their Instagram stories. The crowd showed their support for the 27-year-old whose name did not feature in the T20 World Cup squad.
While the South Africa squad had arrived in Kerala earlier, Team India landed in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday after winning the 3-match T20I series against Australia.
