As India is looking to try all possible combinations ahead of the 2022 World T20, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma praised wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson and said that he is 'definitely in consideration'.
Samson who last played for India in the shortest format of the game in July 2021 against Sri Lanka only, has once again returned to the team as a replacement for Rishabh Pant. The decision came after Pant was rested for the upcoming 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Rohit said, 'Samson has got talent, whenever we have seen him bat he has produced an innings where people go over the moon. Praising his backfoot game, Rohit further said that Samson has got the skill set to succeed.
Samson has a very inconsistent stint so far in the Indian team. Since his debut in 2015, the 27-year-old has played 10 matches amassing just 110 runs, with 27 being his highest individual score.
