After a clean sweep in the ODIs, Team India humiliated the West Indies in T20I as well as they won the 3rd game by 17 runs to hand the visitors a 3-0 whitewash.
Put into bat once again, India found themselves wanting at 93/4. But a 91-run stand between Venkatesh Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav powered the hosts to 184/5. 86 runs came off the last 5 overs, which is the most for India in the history of T20I.
Chasing which, the Windies lost 6 wickets with just 100 runs on the board. Nicholas Pooran though smashed his 3rd consecutive half-century of the series. But brilliant figures of 3/22 by Harshal Patel meant that Windies could manage just 167/9.
It was not only the 3rd consecutive T20I series win for Rohit Sharma as captain but India also become the new No.1 T20 side with 9 consecutive wins in the shortest format.
