July 27, the date when India was supposed to start its 3-match ODI series vs West Indies, the BCCI made a last-minute change in the squad.

Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj left the Caribbean and flew back to India with the rest of the Test specialists including R Ashwin, KS Bharat, Ajinkya Rahane and Navdeep Saini.

According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, the BCCI took this call in order to give Siraj ample rest and to manage his workload.

After the Windies series, India will begin its Asia Cup campaign and will then shift focus to the ODI World Cup in India.
