Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had a record-breaking Test debut, broke down on phone while talking to his father.
Jaiswal's father Bhupendra, who has a small paint shop in Bhadohi, revealed that Yashasvi called around 4:30 am in the morning after scoring his century on Day 2 and he couldn't hold back his tears.
'I cried too. It was a very emotional moment. He could not talk for a long time. He was tired. He just asked me 'are you happy, father?' revealed his dad.
The 21-year-old became the third Indian to register a score of 150 or more on Test debut as he smashed a gritty 171 vs the West Indies.
