India made a terrific start to the ODI series as they thumped England by 10 wickets in the first ODI at The Oval in London on Tuesday. With the win, India have now taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Having asked England to bat first, Jasprit Bumrah produced a devastating display of fast bowling on way to his career-best ODI figures of 6/19. He along with pacer Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna made full use of the overcast conditions in the English capital.

The India bowlers took wickets in a bunch as four out of six top-order England batters were dismissed without troubling the scorers. Captain Jos Buttler tried to halt the slide but Shami sent him packing in the 15th over for 30.
Bumrah then snaffled the final two wickets as India managed to skittle out England for 110, their lowest total against the visitors.
In reply, captain Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, who was playing his first competitive game since the IPL, steered India home with an unbeaten 114-run stand.
While Dhawan was happy to bide his time, Rohit played some wonderful shots all around the park en route to his fifty. He remained unbeaten on 76 as India finished the job inside 19 overs.
