Ahead of India's only warm-up match, premier off-spinner R Ashwin linked up with Team India in Leicester on Thursday. Ashwin had missed the flight to England earlier, having tested positive for Covid-19.

BCCI shared an image on its Twitter handle ahead of the practice game against Leicestershire, where Ashwin was present in the team huddle.

With 442 wickets in 86 matches, the 35-year-old spinner is India's second-highest wicket-taker in the longest format.

Notably, a majority of Test players had left for England on June 16 while captain Rohit Sharma joined them a day later.

India and England will lock horns in the rescheduled fifth Test on July 1 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. India were leading the five-match Test series 2-1 when the series was postponed due to Covid scare last year.
