On Tuesday a storm hit Dublin. It rained sixes as Deepak Hooda wreaked havoc in the 2nd T20I vs Ireland. The 27-year-old sent out a huge statement as he smashed his maiden T20I hundred, reaching the milestone in just 55 balls. What made the feat special was the fact that Hooda is only the 4th Indian to achieve that milestone in T20I.
He came in with the visitors at 13/1 and stitched a 176-run partnership with Sanju Samson. It's now the highest partnership for India for any wicket in T20I history.
Deepak Hooda was impressive in the 1st game as well and guided India to victory with an unbeaten 29-ball-47. After that game, skipper Hardik Pandya spoke highly of the Baroda all-rounder.
Deepak is enjoying an exceptional form lately and had a memorable IPL for the Lucknow Super Giants where he scored 451 runs in 15 matches. The all-rounder however didn't get to play even a single game in the last T20 series vs South Africa. But with two back-to-back impressive knocks, it will be very hard for the management to keep him out of the playing XI going forward.
