Even though Virat Kohli has been rested for India’s tour of the West Indies, the talks around his form refuse to die down.
A few days back, legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev caused quite a stir by calling for Virat's omission from India's Playing XI.
However, Kohli got the backing from Australian veteran Ricky Ponting and now former pacer Ajit Agarkar too has voiced his support for the senior batter. Agarkar, who has represented Team India in more than 200 matches across all three formats, deemed the discussion of dropping Kohli as premature.

While talking to FanCode, Agarkar said that a cricketer going through a lean patch is a fact of life but also reckoned that the former Indian captain did get starts on most occasions.
He backed Ponting's comments over Kohli's presence in India's squad for T20 World Cup, stating that while other players are performing well, it doesn't mean one should start questioning Kohli's capabilities.
33-year-old Kohli has been rested for the ongoing white-ball series against West Indies and is likely to return to India's squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, which will be played in the UAE.
