As India come to terms with the embarrassing 209-run loss at the hands of Pat Cummins’ men, former cricketers and experts of the game have ripped into Team India for another poor show in the final.
Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar could not control his rage when senior batter Virat Kohli was dismissed by Scott Boland on the final day.
Not holding back, Gavaskar questioned Kohli’s shot selection wondering how the former India captain was going to play a big knock with a shot like that.
He went on to criticise the Indian batters, stating, ‘The batting was in shambles today. It was just ridiculous what we saw. The shot-making, we saw some pretty ordinary shots yesterday from Pujara. And today some of the shots that we saw. How do you expect a win?’
India lost 7 wickets in quick succession before lunch on Day 5 to lose the WTC Final for the second time in a row.
