The new IPL team from Lucknow officially announced its name on Monday. The franchise owned by the RPSJ Group will be called 'Lucknow Super Giants' and will begin its campaign under KL Rahul.
The franchise was running a contest and had asked its fans to send in their suggestions for the name. The Lucknow Super Giants had earlier announced its 3 players and apart from KL Rahul, they roped in Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi ahead of the Mega Auction.
Last month, Zimbabwe great Andy Flower was appointed as the team's head coach and former KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir as its team mentor.
