It's all about big hitting and huge scores in the IPL and the ones to make it possible are the batters.
Here is a list of 5 of those batters whom the franchises won't shy away from going all out.
The first name that comes to mind is Australia's power hitter David Warner. The southpaw had a forgettable 2021 season with SRH. After being removed as skipper, Warner was also dropped from the team which created a controversy. But the opener is back among runs and is in sublime form. He was also judged as the player of the tournament in the 2021 World T20 in the UAE. He is also the highest run-scorer among overseas players in the history of the IPL.
Shahrukh Khan may not be a big name in the IPL but he is certainly making waves with his consistent performances. After being surprisingly left by the Punjab Kings, the youngster is expected to attract the franchises like magnets. He has also been in an explosive form in domestic cricket and helped Tamil Nadu defend the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 title by smashing a dramatic last-ball six.
One man who has been scoring heaps of runs in the IPL since its inauguration is Shikhar Dhawan. Though the Delhi Capitals didn't retain him, Dhawan's return to form in international cricket will be enough o trigger a bidding war. He is the second-highest run-scorer in the cash-rich league and also became the first player to smash back-to-back hundreds in the IPL in the 2020 edition.
Shreyas Iyer might not have found his mojo ever since his shoulder injury last year but he still remains one of the top batters to bid for. Apart from being an experienced batter, Iyer's captaincy skills is an added advantage. Multiple reports suggest that RCB is interested in Iyer as Virat Kohli’s successor. But if things do not work out for Bangalore, KKR could go ahead and slip in a bid for the ex-Delhi Capitals skipper.

IPL is known to produce some exceptional talent every year and one such name to come out was that of Devdutt Padikkal. The youngster was RCBs go-to man to give them strong starts and more often than not, Padikkal delivered. His good show with the bat also earned him his maiden India call-up. Though the Royal Challengers didn't retain him, many franchises would be waiting for his name to come up in the auction.
One of the most underrated cricketers of this generation Ishan Kishan is one guy who most likely will start a huge bidding war. Apart from being an explosive left-handed batter who can be fiddled at any position, Kishan is an exceptional wicketkeeper as well. The world witnessed what he could be by his super show for the Mumbai Indians and with the experience of playing for the most successful franchise in the IPL, Kishan would be a captain's delight.
