IPL team Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia believes that the new Captain-Coach duo of Shikhar Dhawan and Trevor Bayliss can lead the team to their maiden IPL title.
Shikhar Dhawan has replaced Mayank Agarwal as the skipper while Aussie Trevor Bayliss has replaced Anil Kumble as the team coach. Bayliss coached England to their 2019 ODI World Cup title and has also won 2 IPL titles with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
"The expectation from them is to take us to the top four and then hopefully win the Cup. Dhawan and Trevor's rich experience and knowledge should help us," said Wadia
"It is a good combination. Trevor comes with a good track record with England and in the IPL. With all their experience combined, we are hoping it will culminate into results that Punjab need and deserve," he further added.
Punjab Kings have managed to reach the IPL final just once back in 2014 as inconsistency in their results has seen them often miss out on the play-off spots.
