Team India's long-term absentees Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer will be targetting a possible return in the upcoming Asia Cup, according to an ESPNCricinfo report. Both Indian players are currently undergoing rehabilitation for their respective back injuries.
While Bumrah hasn't played any cricket since last September, Shreyas Iyer too has also been missing from action since he was ruled out of the last Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in March with a bulging disk in his lower back.
Another long-term absentee, Rishabh Pant's recovery progress has surprised the BCCI and the NCA medical team. Even though a return at the ODI World Cup is looking unlikely, the medical staff is attempting to fast-track Pant's rehab process.
