England and Sussex seamer Jofra Archer has been ruled out for the rest of the 2022 season after being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his lower back. Archer hasn't played for England for more than a year after suffering an elbow injury last year and was hoping to make his comeback for Sussex in the T20 Blast.
ECB issued a statement on Thursday, "No timeframe has been set for his return. A management plan will be determined following further specialist opinion over the coming days."

The Barbados-born speedster had to undergo two elbow surgeries last year and a surgery on his hand to remove a shard of glass. Archer last played for England in March 2021 in a T20 vs India. Archer has missed many tournaments due to his injuries, including the 2021 T20 World Cup, the Ashes and IPL 2021 and 2022 editions.
Earlier, the 27-year old seamer was bought for ₹8 crore by Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2022 which he had to skip due to injury.
