Kevin Pietersen, the celebrated former England cricketer, recently joined the global figures in celebrating the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Several international stars including David Warner and Keshav Maharaj, had also chimed in with their posts on the occasion.. And the Former England captain shared a fan-created story that featured him sporting a 'Shiva Tilak' on his forehead, accompanied by the caption, 'Jai Shree Ram'.
The opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was attended by several notable Indian sportpersons, including Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Venkatesh Prasad, Mithali Raj, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Other well-known figures, such as off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and former Indian captains Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, were also invited to the event.
Pietersen's post comes ahead of England's five-match Test series against India, which is scheduled to start in Hyderabad on January 25. England will want to repeat their outstanding performance from 2012 when they were the final team to defeat India while on tour.
But, England has suffered a severe setback as teenage batting star Harry Brook has withdrawn from the Test series, citing personal reasons. The fact that Virat Kohli chose to skip the first two Test matches, citing personal reasons as well, has similary dealt India a major blow.
