The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Team India's squad for the 5th and final Test against England, due to start on March 7 in Dharamsala.

As expected, KL Rahul couldn't make it to the 16-member squad as he failed to fully recover from injury. 'The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring him and coordinating with specialists in London for further management of his issue,' the board said in the statement.

India's pace bowling got a major boost as Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the 4th Test in Ranchi, was included in the squad for the final Test.

Apart from that, Washington Sundar was released from the squad. He will join Tamil Nadu ahead of their Ranji Trophy Semi-final fixture against Mumbai, starting March 2nd, 2024. He will join the India squad after the completion of the domestic fixture for the fifth Test, if need be.

India already has an unassailable 3-1 lead in the 5-match Test series but the final game is still important as far as the World Test Championship is concerned.

India’s updated squad for the 5th Test:

Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), Devdutt Padikkal, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep.
