The BCCI has announced India’s squad for the remaining three Test matches against England on SaturdayVirat Kohli remained unavailable for the selection citing 'personal reasons' whereas KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were included in the squad but their selection in the playing XI will be subject to their fitness.

Shreyas Iyer, who recently complained about back and groin pain was rested for the remaining three Test matches. Meanwhile, BCCI's squad announcement included a new face. Pace bowler Akash Deep was included in the Team India squad and he has replaced Avesh Khan in the team.

Akash Deep has already got call-up in India's limited overs squads as he featured in the recently concluded Asian Games and Team India's ODI series against South Africa.

The 27-year-old paceman from Bengal impressed the team management with his performance for India A side in the three unofficial Tests against England Lions.

Akash Deep plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL as he was bought by the franchise in 2022 for INR 20 Lakh. He has played 7 IPL matches thus far in which he claimed 6 wickets. The 27-year-old is yet to prove his mettle in IPL and the India call-up will surely boost his confidence for next season of cash-rich league.

He made his First Class debut in 2019 and has taken 103 wickets in 29 matches so far. He has been a consistent performer with the ball for Bengal, meanwhile, he is also a handy batter lower down the order.
