In a surprising turn of events, Najam Sethi, the current PCB Chief, has decided to withdraw himself from the running for the position of PCB Chairman.
Sethi, who took over as the interim PCB Chief after Ramiz Raja's departure last year, cited a political dispute between the main parties in the ruling coalition as the reason for his decision.
Taking to Twitter, Sethi announced his withdrawal, expressing his desire to avoid being a bone of contention between Asif Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif.
He highlighted the detrimental effects of instability and uncertainty on the PCB and declared that, given the circumstances, he would not be a candidate for the Chairmanship of the board. He concluded his tweet by extending his well wishes to all stakeholders involved.
Sethi had been leading an interim management committee responsible for governing the board since December, but their tenure was set to conclude on June 21.
