Rod Tucker, one of the on-field umpires in the 4th Test between India and England in Ranchi, is facing the Indian fans' wrath for alleged 'biased' decision making.
During India's innings, four DRS reviews availed by the hosts were Umpire's Call and were all rejected by Tucker.
Meanwhile, youngster Shoaib Bashir, who achieved his maiden five-wicket haul, was the English bowler, with most successful reviews.
Three of Bashir's five wickets were as a result of Rod Tucker rejecting India's DRS appeals.
The alleged bias by the Australian umpire has not gone down well with Indian fans.
Social media is rife with unhappy messages as netizens fume.
On Day 3, during England's second innings, an 'X' user remarked, 'Umpire's call. Rod Tucker was giving everything out when India were batting. This was similar Gill's lbw.'
Another wondered during India's 1st innings, how can one person be so wrong against a single team in the same match, 'What is wrong with Mr Rod Tucker he has given 3 England batsman who were plumbed as not out and got reversed in DRS and now he has given two umpire's call in favour of England when they are bowling.'
While some users put out angry rants, some resorted to sarcasm, 'Rod Tucker is playing beautifully throughout the match for the Visitors. His dedication is of next level . He shakes his head as soon as the Indian team appeals 🥱. He is playing a gem of an innings with index finger.'
And once again, when England began their 2nd innings of batting, it was an Umpire's Call by Rod Tucker that saved their captain Ben Stokes.
Interestingly, after losing the third Test, Stokes was unhappy with the Umpire's Call rule and called on it to be removed.
