Pakistan Cricket team's interim chief has made a bold statement regarding the selection of batters for the T20I team. The former Pakistan cricketer revealed that batters whose strike rate is below 135 won't be eligible for selection in the T20I squad from now on.
"No batter in T20 will be selected for Pakistan who will not have a strike rate of more than 135 in domestic cricket," Afridi said during an interview.
If this benchmark indeed becomes the norm, then the prolific opening partnership of Pakistan featuring skipper Babar Azam (127.81) and Mohammad Rizwan (126.62) could be in danger as both the batters have a strike rate below the desired figure.
