New Zealand beat Sri Lanka by 4 wickets on the penultimate ball in the final T20I to clinch the 3-match series 2-1, with opener Tim Seifert leading the run-chase for the second match in a row.
Kusal Mendis' 73 off 48 & Lahiru Kumara's 3-wicket haul went in vain as Seifert's 48-ball 88 saw the Kiwis overcome Sri Lanka’s 182-6 in the last over.
Seifert had made 79 from 43 balls when New Zealand won the second match by nine wickets while Sri Lanka had won the first contest in a Super Over.
The Black Caps will now travel to Pakistan, where they will play five T20Is and five ODIs.
