Pakistan's teenage pace sensation Naseem Shah will miss the fifth T20I against England after he was rushed to the hospital on the eve of the game with a severe viral infection.

The 19-year-old had been complaining of chest pain and fever since Tuesday after the team reached Lahore from Karachi.

Naseem, who made his name with his eye-catching performances in the Asia Cup was all set to feature in the fifth T20I against England in Lahore but the youngster had to be hospitalised late on Tuesday night after his health deteriorated.

"He was taken to the hospital with a viral infection but he is feeling better now," the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement.

"He will not be playing tonight and any decision on whether he plays the remaining matches will be taken on advice of medical panel," the statement added.

England are on their first tour of Pakistan in 17  years and with the series tied 2-2 after four matches, Naseem's absence will surely be felt by the Men in Green.
