Indian batter Prithvi Shaw is all set to make his debut in English county cricket with Northamptonshire.
Shaw's first appearance for the county side is scheduled for Friday, where he will face Gloucestershire in Cheltenham during the One-Day Cup.
Shaw's arrival, however, was slightly delayed due to visa formalities, which resulted in him missing out on two four-day County Championship fixtures.
In a media release, Shaw expressed his excitement and gratitude, saying, "It's a great opportunity for me, and I'm really thankful to Northamptonshire for giving me this chance to express myself here. It's going to be amazing, and I'm really looking forward to it."
Shaw's last international appearance for India was during the tour of Sri Lanka in July 2021. He was also part of the squad for the T20Is against New Zealand at home earlier this year.
Notably, the Delhi Capitals batter had a challenging IPL 2023 campaign and was eventually dropped from the team midway through the competition.
