The upcoming consecration of the Ram Temple has attracted a star-studded guest list featuring renowned sports figures, including cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, chess maestro Viswanathan Anand, IOA chief PT Usha, and celebrated footballer Bhaichung Bhutia.
Scheduled for next week, this significant event has extended invitations to over 500 state guests, as revealed by PTI, encompassing a diverse group of personalities from politics, cinema, sports, and business sectors.
The event's guest list boasts a remarkable array of cricketing greats. Joining Tendulkar are Kapil Dev, who led India to World Cup victory, the esteemed Sunil Gavaskar, and cricket luminaries like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Anil Kumble, Virendra Sehwag, and coach Rahul Dravid. Current cricket stars Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin and Rohit Sharma are also among the invitees.
The sports world's representation extends beyond cricket. Former Weightlifting champion Karnam Malleswari, AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey, long-distance runner Kavita Raut Tungar, and paralympic javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia are set to attend.
The event has also sent invitations to women's cricket icons Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur as well as badminton stars Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, and renowned coach Pullela Gopichand.
