Indian vice-captain KL Rahul is unlikely to be available for any of India's matches during their tour of England.
Rahul is set to miss the rescheduled Test as well as the limited-overs leg that ends on July 17.
A recurring groin issue first ruled him out of the South Africa series where he was supposed to lead the side and now, he's expected to be sidelined for a longer period.
According to a source in the BCCI, Rahul is likely to fly abroad for treatment, with Germany being his possible destination.
Meanwhile, Shubhman Gill, who is part of the Indian squad, should replace KL Rahul in the playing XI for the England Test at Edgbaston
Notably, the fifth Test match of the series against England in which India currently leads 2-1, had to be rescheduled due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the Indian camp last year and the game will now be played from July 1-5
