Australia's legendary cricketer Ricky Ponting was rushed to hospital in Perth after a heart scare while commentating during Australia vs West Indies Test match.
After a 40-minute commentary stint on Day 3, the former Australian captain walked out of Channel 7's commentary box at the stroke of lunch. He was accompanied by former Australia coach Justin Langer to a car and sent to the hospital as a precaution.
A Channel 7 spokesperson said that 47-year-old Ponting was unwell and will not be providing commentary for the remainder of Day 3's coverage.
Ponting took retirement from cricket in 2012. He scored over 27,000 runs in international cricket.
He is currently the head coach of the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League.
