Amid constant discussion about Pakistan's participation in the upcoming ODI World Cup, former captain Shahid Afridi has revealed that the team's bus was pelted with stones during a visit in 2005.
Interacting with the media, Afridi said, 'It was a high pressure moment in our careers (tours of India). When we hit boundaries, there was no one to cheer. When we won the Bangalore Test and were departing for hotel, stones were pelted on the team bus. The pressure is there, of course but then it’s only fun when there’s pressure.'
He went on to address the speculations surrounding Pakistan's visit to India for the ODI World Cup 2023.
The 46-year-old asserted, 'People are saying that Pakistan should not go to India. I am totally against it, I think we should go there and win the match.'
The Pakistan Cricket Board has expressed security concerns about Babar Azam & Co playing in India for the marquee event which begins October 5.
