Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi recalled his onfield battles with India's Gautam Gambhir and rated him as one of the most 'outstanding' players to play the sport.
When asked about whether he used to deliberately provoke the former Indian batter in order to get a reaction from him on YouTube channel Had Kar Di, Afridi said "These things are commonplace. Because of social media, it gets hyped. He’s a different player from others, a different character. His reputation is similar within the Indian team,"
However Afridi was quick to praise the 2011 World Cup winner.
He added, “Let’s talk about positive things. I have rarely seen an Indian opener whose timing is as good as his. He was an outstanding player."
Afridi also talked about Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar and said that he has been a fan of the Master Blaster himself.
He also reminded people of the bat gifted to him by none other than Sachin himself which was the same one Afridi used to break the then fastest ODI hundred record.
