Shreyas Iyer to play for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy: report

After being excluded from the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan, Shreyas Iyer has decided to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. 

The Times of India reported on Tuesday that Shreyas will turn out for Mumbai in their second Ranji Trophy match, against Andhra at the Mumbai Cricket Association's Bandra-Kurla Complex ground from January 12.

The 27-year-old replaces batter Sarfaraz Khan who will be playing for India A against England Lions from January 12. 

Shreyas, who is in contention to be picked for the 5-match series against England, will be able to prepare for the upcoming Tests.
