While the Indian fans booed the Australian team, primarily Cameron Green, after the controversial Shubman Gill catch, the all-rounder chose to play down the antics of Gill supporters on Day 4 of the World Test Championship final.
Reacting to the 'cheater cheater' chants that were hurled at him after Gill's wicket fell, Green said, 'Indian fans are so passionate and Gill is one of the favorite guys. It is what it is and we move on'
Gill who scored an 18 in an opening stand of 41 was looking in good rhythm before Green caught him at gully. He dived to catch the ball from his left hand. While he caught Gill in the air, in the replays it appeared that the ball while in Green's hand touched the ground through his fingers.
When asked about the catch, Green addressed the uncertainty around it and said, 'Yeah, I think at the time, I definitely thought I caught it. I think in the heat of the moment, I thought it was clean and threw it up and obviously showed no signs of any doubt basically'
