Having expressed his displeasure through social media posts, India's opening batter Shubman Gill’s dissent over Cameron Green's catch could invite punishment from the ICC.

Gill took a dig at the third umpire over his controversial dismissal, questioning third umpire Richard Kettleborough's decision.

According to clause 2.7 of ICC's code of conduct, social media posts by a player or support staff could amount to a breach of the code of conduct.

Tweeting an image of Green’s catch, the Punjab batter had used two magnifying glass emojis followed by a facepalm emoji as his caption. On Instagram, he had mocked the third umpire’s call with applause emojis.
