Shubman Gill’s controversial wicket on Day 4 of the World Test Championship Final has become the talk of the town.
Addressing the issue in the post-match conference, Indian pacer Mohammed Shami said, ‘The catch could have been replayed once again. It is not an ordinary match, it’s the World Test Championship Final, the umpire could’ve examined the catch carefully by zooming in.’
But the pacer went on to say that Team India accepts the decision taken by the umpire adding that it ‘was part of the game’.
Gill, who scored an 18 in an opening stand of 41, was looking in good rhythm before Green caught him at gully. He dived to catch the ball from his left hand. While he caught Gill in the air, in the replays it appeared that the ball while in Green's hand touched the ground through his fingers.
