Sarfaraz Khan has attracted a lot of praise since his India Test debut and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has charted out a path for the 26-year-old batter to succeed, stating he now needs to score in overseas games too.
‘Sarfaraz has started well. He now has to score in foreign countries. He is a good example for budding cricketers, who must keep in mind that if they score consistently, they will get their chances,’ the former BCCI President said.
In the absence of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, the middle-order looked extremely vulnerable but after finally getting his big break, Sarfaraz showed he belonged at the biggest stage from ball one and piled on the runs like he did for years in domestic cricket.
"It's a very good feeling to win a game like that and especially with such a young team as well. (We had) two debutants (Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel) and not a lot of Test matches amongst the playing eleven as well.
"A lot of credit to these young boys who have come in and showed a lot of character. Looks like they actually belong here and they want to stay here as well," captain Rohit Sharma had said after the massive win against England in the 3rd Test.
