Indian batsman Suryakumar Kumar had the odds stacked against him as he prepared for the T20 series decider against Australia in Hyderabad. The 32-year-old was battling with illness the night before the game and had to wake up and go to his physio at 3 in the morning.
Despite the illness, Suryakumar Yadav did not let his game reflect any weakness as he played a scintillating knock of 69 runs off 36 balls on the night and stitched a 104-run partnership with Virat Kohli to help Team India clinch the series 2-1 on the night.
He is also the leading run getter in T20 Internationals in 2022 now. Suryakumar Yadav has scored 682 runs in 20 matches at an average of 37.88 in the T20 format this year.
"The weather changed last night and there has been a change in travelling. Because of all this, I had a stomach ache, then got a fever as well, but at the same time I knew that it was a decider game." said Yadav in a post match interview
"So I told my doctor, do whatever it takes, give me any medicine or injection but prepare me for the evening match. And once I'm on ground in this (India) jersey then there is a different emotion for me." he further added
