After a disappointing bowling performance at Asia Cup 2022, all eyes were on Team India's T20 World Cup 2022 squad but fans and experts were left surprised with the omission of pacer Mohammed Shami.
Former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin said that he would have chosen Shreyas Iyer instead of Deepak Hooda and Shami in place of Harshal Patel.
Another ex-India skipper Krishnamachari Srikkanth said that the tournament is in Australia and Shami gets good bounce. He can bare the moment and can get early wickets, so he too would have got Shami instead of Harshal.
Though Shami was not included in the 15-member squad but he will travel with the team as part of the standby players. 'That guy has done well last IPL, so Shami is the must in my team,' added Srikkanth.
