ICC on Tuesday announced that the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground has been awarded the hosting rights of the World Test Championship final in 2023 and 2025.
The decision was taken during the ongoing ICC Annual Conference in Birmingham, where the board members also decided that the election for the position of ICC Chairman will take place in November 2022.
Lord's, known as the home of cricket, was supposed to host the inaugural edition of the WTC final in 2021 but the game between India and New Zealand was moved to Southampton due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Kiwis are the defending champions as they beat India by 8 wickets in the final last time.
