Team India's stand-in head coach VVS Laxman opened up on filling Rahul Dravid's shoes when the latter is rested from a tour.
During India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI, Laxman told the host broadcaster that the coaching role is fully satisfying. "It is only a stop-gap arrangement but it is been fun working with the young guys," added VVS.
Laxman also stated that India is blessed to have a strong depth of talent and bench strength. "It is about giving them opportunities and also informing them whenever they are not picked," the NCA chief further added.
Interestingly, Dravid himself was once in Laxman's shoes when the Indian Test team was in England with then head coach Ravi Shastri and Dravid performed this role for a Shikhar Dhawan-led side in a limited-overs series in Sri Lanka.
