Team India pacer Mohammed Shami praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appreciated him for his support to the players after the team's heartbreaking loss in the Cricket World Cup final on November 19.
When asked about how he felt after meeting PM Modi after the final, Shami said "At that time we had lost the match, in such a situation when the Prime Minister gives you confidence, it is a different moment. It is very important. Because morale goes down, then if your PM is with you the confidence increases."
PM Modi visited the team's dressing room after the final in Ahmedabad and tried to lift their spirits after India failed to break their long ICC trophy drought on November 19.
PM Narendra Modi, who was present in the stadium for the final, was called a 'panauti' on social media after India's defeat.
