David Warner has been reunited with his baggy green cap after he announced it had gone missing ahead of his final Test appearance for Australia.
Cricket Australia (CA) said the baggy green was found packed in a bag at the team's Sydney hotel. Warner took to Instagram on Friday morning to confirm he had received the missing cap.
"I'm pleased and relieved that I have got my baggy (green cap) back in my hands," he said.
"Any cricketer knows how special their cap is and I'll cherish this for the rest of my life. Very grateful to all those involved in locating it: the Qantas team, the freight company, the hotel and our own team management. It's a load off my shoulders and I really appreciate it, so thank you all," Warner added.
Back on Tuesday, January 2, Warner lost his Baggy Green and claimed that it was stolen from his luggage while he was travelling to Sydney for the third and final Test of the series. Thereafter, he took to social media to make a plea for the return of his cap.
Warner had played in a replacement baggy green during Australia's first innings in the third Test against Pakistan at the SCG.
He made 34 and is likely to have one more chance to bat for Australia in the second innings of his 112th and final Test.
In the first innings of the SCG Test, Warner was dropped in the slips by Saim Ayub. But soon after, Salman Agha dismissed him, caught by former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam in the slip cordon.
