While Pakistan didn’t get to the best of starts against Ireland in Cape Town, wicketkeeper Muneeba Ali made history for the Women in Green.
The opening batter became the first Pakistani woman to score a hundred in T20Is. Riding on her 68-ball 102, Bismah Maroof’s side posted an imposing 165 from their 20 overs.
In reply, Ireland lost both their openers inside the powerplay. Left-arm spinner Nashru Sandhu then took 4/18 to bowl the Irish out for just 95 inside 17 overs, giving Pakistan a 70-run victory.
