Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) on Friday suspended the head coach of women’s cricket team, Vidyuth Jaisimha was allegedly found carrying and drinking alcohol on the team bus. Hyderabad Cricket Association chief Jagan Mohan Rao directed Vidyuth to refrain from all cricket-related activities, pending an enquiry by the board.
In a letter suspending the coach, HCA said, “Please note that an anonymous email has been received by the HCA on February 15 with videos of you carrying and consuming alcohol in the team bus while on tour with Hyderabad state team. Further, videos were also circulated in various WhatsApp groups and also shown on various TV channels. This is a matter of serious concern and I have asked for a thorough investigation to be done in this matter.”
Notably, a letter, attributed to the parents of the cricketers of the Hyderabad senior women's team accusing Vidyuth of bad behaviour, has been going viral on social media.
It has definitely tarnished the image of Hyderabad’s state association and it will not be shocking if Vidyut Jaisimha ends up getting permanently sacked from the role of head coach. According to the latest statement from HCA, the matter will go under trial without any partiality and in a transparent manner.
