Pakistan won the toss and sent the Windies women to bat first. A brilliant performance by the Pakistani bowlers restricted the West Indies to mere 89. While Nida Dar took 4 wickets, Omaima Sohail and Fatima Sana took a wicket each.
In reply, Muneeba Ali who was playing her first match in the competition scored 37 off 43, this was followed by Omaima Sohail and skipper Bismah Maroof adding an unbeaten 27 ball 22 and 20 off 29 respectively.
The result is a big dent for Windies women who were sitting comfortably at the 3rd spot. They will now hope to secure a win against South Africa to keep their hopes for a semifinal spot alive.
