Wellington Firebirds player Troy Johnson worked in tandem with his captain Nick Kelly to dismiss Will Young in the most unexpected way during a Super Smash game on Saturday.
Young smashed Michael Snedden for what appeared to be a six in the sixth over before Johnson foiled his plans by orchestrating a relay catch at the boundary line.
Johnson caught the ball before it could cross the rope but before he inevitably exited the boundary he threw the ball over his head to Nick Kelly who completed the catch, perhaps the best in T20 cricket so far.
Will Young was dismissed for 7 but his team, the Central Stags, eventually chased down the 148-run target in the stipulated overs.
