Prithvi Shaw had an unexpected start to his Northamptonshire career as the Indian batter got himself dismissed by kicking down the stumps after attempting to play a bouncer delivery against Gloucestershire.
Pacer Paul van Meekeren bowled a bouncer to Shaw which made him lose his balance while attempting to hit a pull shot. However, what made his debut a forgettable one was the manner in which the 23-year-old went to the ground, dislodging the bails in the process as well.
Shaw had scored 34 runs before the incident and had to be content with it on the night.
